Halloween is almost upon us!
Time to add a touch of spoopy to your timeline! (And no, that is not a typo. When I say “spoopy” I mean “spoopy.”)
Hope that the Halloween week finds you well, and if things look a bit too dark and bleak, because *waves hands at all of this* I hope that these little bite-sized tidbits of joy hold you over.
Gonna start with clowns, because, well, clowns.
Then ease you into something with a bit more bite–like Gin Wigmore, my favorite “Black Sheep.”
And because a friend recently reminded me of how much I liked the last Radiohead studio album, some charming stop motion with seasonally appropriate lyrics. God, I love this video so much!
Got some fun, spooky klezmer from Squirrel Nut Zippers for you here.
And because you can never have enough Squirrel Nut Zippers, here’s “Hell.” I still remember with delight when this song popped up on the show Millennium. Frank Black (Lance Henrickson) mentioned the band when he heard them playing in the coroner’s suite. She asked, “You’ve heard of Squirrel Nut Zippers,” and he said. “Hasn’t everybody?” Over 20 years later and I still remember that moment. Classic.
And here’s a little something for your Dia de los Muertos on Friday.
