Back on task

After a week of family, having just my son crashing with me while he looks for a new apartment is strangely quiet. Especially since he knows people up here now and goes to hang out with them from time to time. That leaves me all amped up to finish up my writing projects for 2010, before diving into the next year.

There is no way everything is going to get done. There is at least one anthology I’m not going to make deadline for. It’s sad, but unavoidable. I don’t want to force a story and end up turning in sub-standard work. And it’s an open submission so they won’t be missing me. The big priority is finishing the podcast scripts, and I have a little time tonight, then Thursday and Friday night to finish them up. Should be a piece of cake.

I get to wake up on Saturday, January 1, 2011, with a clean slate of projects ahead of me — the first due on the 15th.

First up, a little story featuring Doctor Shadow from the Protectorate. Intended to be the first in a series of stories highlighting the character of Cobalt City’s many neighborhoods, it will appear as a free download on January 15th on the Timid Pirate booty page.

Until then, the writing continues.
